Getting ready to brew up a beer inspired by Zombie Dust. I could brew it exactly as written up in this thread – over at HBT – but I just received my Vermont Ale yeast from The Yeast Bay. And I have a small bag of grain that my cats opened up which needs to be used. So while it might be similar, I think I could just call it a Citra IPA at this point. Will be making up a starter today and throw it on the stir plate in time for brew day tomorrow.
Did not have time to get some pictures on brew day. Was a bit hectic, and I had to keep an eye on some other things as well. The brew day went well. Hit all my numbers, added some gypsum to the mash, which I think improved the hop character a bit once it was done. I finally got my water report from Ward Labs so I can start fudging with it, which I did for the Heady Topper clone. The HT clone was very clear when I started running off the water. Here is a pic from that session:
I’ll try and get more pictures from the next brew day. Planning a Flemish Red to throw on all the dregs from my 3 batches that have been sitting in the dark for about a year. Should be a year by the time I keg them.
